What this discipline covers

Every reliable network starts with clean cabling. ADTCO selects the copper category — Cat6, Cat6A or shielded Cat7 (ISO Class F) — to the bandwidth and distance the link actually needs, pulls and terminates within manufacturer bend-radius and tension limits, and ties inter-floor or inter-building runs into fiber backbone where copper’s distance or EMI limits apply.

Every link is certified, not assumed: we test to the applicable ANSI/TIA-568 or ISO/IEC 11801 parameters with a calibrated cable tester and issue the results as a certification report, alongside a consistent labelling scheme and rack build so the room stays fast to support and easy to change.

Cabling — common questions

Cat6 or Cat6A — which do we actually need?

If every run is under roughly 55m and 1GbE is enough for the foreseeable future, Cat6 is a sound, cost-effective choice. If any run needs full-distance 10GbE at 100m, or you want headroom for future upgrades without re-cabling, Cat6A is the right specification. We size this per run from your actual layout, not a blanket category across the whole site.

Is Cat7 worth specifying over Cat6A?

Usually only where you have genuine high-EMI conditions or a project specification that calls for it. Cat7 is technically an ISO/IEC Class F specification rather than a formal TIA/EIA category, and it terminates with GG45/TERA connectors instead of standard RJ45 — which affects equipment compatibility. For most commercial deployments, Cat6A meets the requirement at lower cost and complexity.

What does "certified" cabling actually mean?

It means every link is tested with a calibrated cable tester against the wire-map, length, attenuation and crosstalk parameters defined by the applicable TIA-568 or ISO/IEC 11801 category — and the results are issued to you as a report. That’s different from a basic continuity check, which only confirms the wires are connected, not that the link performs to standard.
